Product

A coverage-maintenance system for the equities you already own.

Claroo is not a screener, not a stock picker, and not a chatbot bolted to a ticker. It is continuous coverage of the specific securities in your portfolio: it reads the primary sources on a schedule and reports what changed, with a citation on every claim.

Features

Ten things Claroo does so that you don't.

Every one of them runs against the primary documents.

01

Position Sync

Connect your brokerage once. Claroo covers exactly what you own.

Link a read-only brokerage connection and Claroo builds coverage for every equity position in the account, with weights and cost basis. Holdings refresh daily, so when you buy, sell or trim, coverage follows without you maintaining a spreadsheet. If you would rather not connect anything, a CSV or a list of tickers works just as well.

02

The Morning Brief

One page on your portfolio, before the open. Not the market's. Yours.

Every trading day at 5:30am ET, Claroo compiles everything that happened to your holdings since the last brief — filings, calls, material news, analyst actions — ranked by whether it plausibly affects the thesis. Quiet days produce short briefs. If nothing happened, it says nothing happened, which is a feature.

03

Position Files

A standing research file on every holding, kept current.

Each position gets a living document: what the business does, how it makes money, the current capital structure, the last four quarters of reported results, the open questions, and a dated log of everything that has changed since you bought it. It is the memo you would have written if you had the time, and it rewrites itself when new filings land.

04

Filing Diff

See exactly what changed between this 10-K and the last one.

Claroo aligns filings section by section and shows you the substantive edits — language added, removed or materially reworded — while suppressing the boilerplate churn that makes a raw text diff useless. Applies to 10-K, 10-Q, proxy statements and S-1s. Companies rarely announce that they quietly rewrote Item 1A.

05

Risk Register

Track how a company describes its own risks, year over year.

Every risk factor a company discloses is extracted, categorised and tracked across filings, so you can see when a risk first appeared, when its language escalated and when it quietly vanished. New risk factors are flagged in the brief the morning they are filed. It is the most under-read section of the 10-K and the one that ages fastest.

06

Call Notes

Earnings calls, read and summarised. Then you can interrogate the transcript.

Within hours of a call, Claroo produces structured notes: what management guided to, what changed from last quarter’s language, which questions analysts pressed on, and which ones did not get a straight answer. The full transcript stays searchable underneath, so you can ask what they said about pricing and get the exact passage back.

07

Noise Filter

Most news about your holdings doesn't matter. This tells you which does.

News on your positions is collected, deduplicated across outlets, and scored on whether it reflects a change in the business or a change in the volume of people talking about the business. Rewrites of the same press release collapse into one item. Sentiment is reported as a diagnostic, not a signal.

08

Material Event Alerts

Get told when something actually changes. Nothing else.

Set rules — a new 8-K, an insider sale over a threshold, a new risk factor, an auditor change, a guidance revision, a 13D/G crossing — and Claroo notifies you by email, push or Slack when one fires. Alerts arrive with the source document attached and the relevant paragraph highlighted.

09

Ask Claroo

Ask about your portfolio. Every sentence in the answer is sourced.

Ask in plain language — which of my holdings have customer concentration above 10%, did anyone raise prices this quarter, what is my aggregate exposure to a single foundry — and Claroo answers across every document in your coverage set. Every factual claim links to the exact paragraph it came from. If the documents do not support an answer, it says so instead of producing one.

10

Memos & Export

Turn any file into something you can send to someone else.

Export a Position File, a Filing Diff or a Call Note as a formatted PDF or DOCX, with citations preserved as footnotes and a timestamp on every claim. Advisers can apply firm branding and a standard disclosure block. Everything is also available as CSV and over a read-only API.

04 · Filing Diff

Companies rarely announce that they rewrote Item 1A.

A raw text diff of two annual reports returns four hundred highlighted lines, almost all of them date rolls, renumbering and counsel-driven rewrites that do not change what the filing says. Claroo aligns the documents section by section, matches paragraphs, and classifies each change as added, removed, materially reworded or cosmetic — then suppresses the cosmetic ones by default.

The escalations are the interesting part. A risk that moves from “may adversely affect” to “has adversely affected” has changed category, not wording.

03 · Position Files

The memo you would have written, if you had the afternoon.

Every holding gets a living document that rewrites itself when new filings land: what the business does, how it makes money, the capital structure, the last four quarters of reported results, the open questions, and a dated log of everything that has changed since you bought it.

Financial figures come from XBRL company facts rather than from parsing HTML tables, which is why the numbers reconcile to the filing.

08 · Material Event Alerts

It works while you sleep, and you decide what counts.

Rules are written as sentences: when risk factors in a 10-K for any holding change by more than a threshold, notify me in the morning brief. Alerts arrive with the source document attached and the triggering paragraph highlighted.

You can also leave the defaults on and get roughly two alerts a month per position, which is about how often anything real happens.

Getting your holdings in

Four ways in. None of them can trade.

Brokerage connection · primary

Read-only account link via SnapTrade

Broadest coverage of US and Canadian retail brokerages. Returns positions, cost basis and transactions. Claroo requests read-only scopes and never enables trading permissions.

Brokerage connection

Plaid Investments

Used where SnapTrade does not cover an institution. Pulls holdings, securities reference data and investment transactions. Same read-only posture.

File import

CSV / XLSX

Pre-mapped templates for Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, E*Trade, Robinhood, Merrill and Interactive Brokers Flex Query, which also supports scheduled automatic delivery. Generic column mapping for everything else.

Manual entry

Type in tickers

Ticker plus optional share count and cost basis. No account connection required. This is the default for the free tier and for anyone who does not want to link anything, ever.

You can use all of Claroo without connecting a brokerage account. Manual entry gets you the same research; it just won't update itself.

Coverage at launch is US-listed equities and ADRs. ETFs and funds are held and shown in your portfolio but receive holdings-level exposure summaries rather than full Position Files. Options, futures and crypto display as positions but are not researched.

Under the hood

What the pipeline actually does.

Six stages, running continuously. This is the part that makes the citations possible.

Ingest

EDGAR submissions, full-text search and the XBRL company-facts API are polled continuously for every issuer in any coverage set: 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, DEF 14A, S-1/S-3, 13D/G and Forms 3/4/5. Financial statement data comes from XBRL facts rather than parsed HTML tables, which is why the numbers reconcile to the filing. Transcripts and newswires arrive from licensed providers.

Normalise

Documents are segmented structurally, not as flat text: Item 1A stays Item 1A, MD&A stays MD&A, the Q&A portion of a call is separated from prepared remarks. Entities are resolved across ticker, CIK, ISIN and LEI, so a position maps to the right filer even after a ticker change, a spin-off or a re-domiciliation.

Diff

Filing comparison is section-aligned and paragraph-matched, then each change is classified: added, removed, materially reworded, or cosmetic. Cosmetic changes — renumbering, date rolls, formatting — are suppressed by default. This is the difference between a diff you will read and a diff that returns four hundred highlighted lines.

Retrieve

Every document is chunked with its structural metadata intact and indexed for hybrid retrieval, lexical and semantic, followed by reranking. When Claroo answers a question it retrieves spans first and reads only those spans. It does not answer from model memory.

Ground

Every factual sentence is anchored to a specific span in a specific document at a specific accession number. A verification pass re-checks each claim against its cited span before anything is published, and claims that fail verification are dropped rather than hedged.

Schedule

EDGAR is polled on a tight interval during filing windows and after the close, when 8-Ks cluster. Transcripts are processed on availability. Briefs compile at 05:30 ET. Alerts fire on ingest, not on a batch.

What Claroo doesn't do

It doesn't trade.

No orders, no routing, no rebalancing, no execution of any kind. Brokerage connections are read-only and we never request trading permissions.

It doesn't hold your money or your securities.

We are not a custodian, a broker-dealer, or a bank. Your assets stay where they are.

It isn't investment advice.

Claroo is not a registered investment adviser and does not provide personalised recommendations. It will not tell you to buy or sell anything, it does not issue ratings or price targets, and it has no opinion on what you should own.

It doesn't predict prices.

There is no model here forecasting where a stock is going. There is a system that reads documents and reports what they say.

It doesn't replace the filing.

Every claim links to the source. When something matters, read the source. We built the citations so you can.

It isn't always right.

It reads a great deal of text and occasionally misreads some of it. That is why nothing is published without a citation, and why every citation is one click from the original paragraph.

You make the calls. We do the bleak parts.
